Hoarding - Filling The Void

M Are Christ followers tempted to be hoarders?  For sure.  Underneath most hoarders’ behavior is a significant loss.  Home foreclosure, bankruptcy, poverty as a child, divorce, or death.  That uncertainty becomes a hungry void pleading to be filled with things.  A popular television show highlighted extremes to the extent that one woman slept in her car as she had filled her home to being unlivable.

V God’s word is clear.  Things don’t satisfy.  Material abundance is to be shared, not hoarded.  Contentment comes from Christ and Christ alone.  Philippians 4:12 I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
