Handing Out

M Loss and change prompt strange behavior in people related to money.  Loss of a spouse through divorce or death affects more than that person’s financial status.  Friends abandon ship.   Typically, 75% of our friendship network.

V It’s tempting to try to hold on to ‘friends by ‘handing out.’  Sometimes divorced parents give gifts to their children to keep them close.  Widows and widowers may be over generous with children, or other family members and friends to keep them close.

M We understand the temptation and the void, but handing out is not a solution.  Meaningful ways to grow that new relationship last.  Handing out does not.  When the funds and gifts stop flowing, the person maybe gone.
