Investment Mistakes

I’m Miriam Neff and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan with Wise Women Managing Money.

M We encourage managing and overseeing your own investments even if you employ others.  Yes, you will make mistakes.  I look at stock I wish I purchased and stocks I should have shunned.  Some abandon investing, I’ve decided to learn and improve.

V Look at losses as an educational experience. They are painful for sure, but over time, you learn what you value and what companies will deliver that.  Some investors prefer slow growth stocks with steady dividends, others can tolerate a bit more risk.  Online resources show you a company’s growth pattern, dividends, and more.

M Most learning curves are not straight up. Research, investigate and keep monitoring.  It’s actually learning that’s fun.
