27 Where To Put Surplus
I’m Miriam Neff and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan with Wise Women Managing Money.
M With a good budget plan in place and building surplus, you have another decision to make. Where to put surplus.
V The preverbal shoe box under the bed is not a good idea. Bank savings accounts have a return of about 0.001%. Hardly the standard of the parables of good stewardship. Equities have been reliably about a 7% return over the decades; fluctuations definitely, but conservative choices mean less fluctuation and even maybe a 4% return is better than the bank savings account.
M All this means time, research, learning from wise people and then monitoring. Why? Because it’s God’s and He’s entrusted it to you. Take the time to learn and put surplus is a growing place.
