Scams - Phishing

I’m Miriam Neff and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan with Wise Women Managing Money.

M I recently was hit with another phishing, scam email.  I was informed that I had placed an order for a free trial (of something not of interest to me) and I could cancel it on that date.  Clicking on the cancel link, it was asking me for passwords.

V Big red flag.  We say repeatedly.  Go to the original site to order anything, confirm anything.  Credit card login, bank login in.  That link is fishing for information to access your computer.  From there, they can transfer your funds, charge, and take what is yours.

M Remember, it’s’ God’ money entrusted to you.  That’s a high level of accountability.
