M 80% of widows living in poverty were not poor before their husband died.  This is both tragic and unnecessary.  One important and easy solution is life insurance.  No income is too small to not carve out a little for some type of life insurance. 

V Just being aware of this should prompt real discussions in marriages about the reality that they will not leave this planet likely at the same time. What’s next?  Does God care?  For sure!  Scripture is full of His care for widows, orphans, and the marginalized.  We can show care like leaving little debt and providing life insurance.  Start saving early.  Loss and death may yet come, but poverty is not a necessity.
