Measuring Gain

M Gaining in the financial world is good.  Higher bank account, growing portfolio, gain is good.  Let’s get perspective.

V Scripture talks about great gain.  It comes from godliness with contentment.  I Timothy 6: 6. One need not look far to see stories of people who have experienced financial gain only to shrink in godly behavior and see their reputation shrink.  No amount of money can compensate for a good name.  Stuff gets old and goes into landfills, but godly character does not.  

M I Timothy 6:10 says loving money creates an evil root.  Strive for godliness first. The result: contentment with whatever you have. That is unmeasurable great gain.
