Emergency Funds

I’m Miriam Neff and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan with Wise Women Managing Money.

M An emergency fund of 3-to-6 months living expenses is more than recommended.  Likely it will be required as job loss and unexpected events happen to everyone.  If you don’t have it, how can you start?

V Take that tax refund and open the savings account. Set up an automatic transfer from your checking to your savings account, even in a small amount.  It’s painless and you’ll have the satisfaction of making progress. Consider an online bank for your savings account.  They usually pay higher rates than bricks and mortar.

M Scripture says care for your family. I Timothy 5:8 encourages that. Emergencies happen.  Honor God and be prepared.
