Debt: a greedy beast

Romans 13:8 ‘Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another.’
Romans 12:2 ‘ Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.’
Fact: At the end of 2018 our national debt was almost 22 trillion. The average American household carries almost $140,000 dollars in total debt with the median income being just under $60,000. Debt is popular.

I. Changing times: mortgages, educational debt, and business debt are risky today, as opposed to decades ago.

II. Realistically assess and list ever debt you have: include interest % of each.

III. Don’t
A. Move credit card debt around to other cards. It’s still debt.
B. Do nothing! Some jobs are closed due to debts. The news does not change.

IV. Do
A Shrink your spending plan.
B Put every dollar toward the highest interest charging debt.
C Remember God sees your willingness to follow His Word on money

V. Beware: scammers of those in poverty

VI. Debt is a financial and emotional burden. God stands ready to help.
