Picking a financial planner # 6

I’m Miriam Neff,  and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, with Wise Women Managing Money

M Picking a financial advisor is important, and impacts our stewardship of what God has entrusted to us.  This requires searching for the right one, an investment of time well spent.

V Another tip when picking one is this: vet seriously and hard. It’s a mistake if you do not hire a vetted advisor.

Chances are, there are several highly qualified financial advisors in your town. However, it can seem daunting to choose one.

M My vet process I interviewed 3 checking their reputation. I chose a fee-based CFP (i.e. advice not based on selling a product).

I told them a possible amount and asked for a plan of where they would put those dollars and the fees involved.

V  Vetting is important.
