Wise stewardship

M We frequently refer to the stewardship principle found in Matthew 25: 14—29.  In summary a man owned goods and delivered them to his servants to oversee.  One 5 talents, one 2, and one 1.

V Two according to their ability worked, traded, and doubled what was entrusted to them.  They were commended. The servant who received one talent hid his because of fear.  Result: when the owner returned, he rewarded those who had stewarded well, with double the first ‘investment.’

But the fearful steward was condemned for being lazy. We might compare this to putting savings in a shoe box instead of a bank earning interest.

M Of the many lessons, one is this. Work, don’t be lazy, be productive and steward well.
