M  Widows needing legal advice often feel uninformed on legal matters.  Result, they are vulnerable.  Sadly I know of a lawyer who was asking a widow inappropriate questions about her life style entirely inappropriate to the matter at hand.

V  It’s not necessarily a solution, but a possibility, to bring a friend to the meeting.  More importantly, you need a wise advocate who has your back.  There are sources to see how lawyers are rated.  You want one experienced in the area of your need.  If you have a complex matter, getting one who specializes in that area will do the best job,  and probably efficiently, and should result in a fair price.

M Do you pick car mechanics, physicians, other professions based on friends or family? No.  Competence is key.
