Frenemy
I’m Miriam Neff, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, with Wise Women Managing Money.
M A smart phone is a frenemy. It started out something I like but then was expensive. It’s costs mess with my budget, not to mention that it interrupts your schedule incessantly. Let’s talk about phone costs.
V Thinking ‘smart’ means expensive. Look at purchase price, plans, and more. Even school age children compare with each other. Who has the most cool phone? This is a relevant learning moment. Family finances matter. Conversations could come around personal accountability and not comparing. Confidence is in who you are, not what you own.
M Remember that what we now find necessary had not been invented not such a long time ago. People once survived without cars, microwaves, computers and smart phones.
