Financial Advisor - Vetting
I’m Miriam Neff, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, with Wise Women Managing Money.
M Picking a financial advisor is important, and impacts our stewardship of what God has entrusted to us. This requires searching for the right one, an investment of time well spent.
V Another one of our tips when picking an advisor is this: vet seriously and hard. It is a mistake if you do not hire a fully vetted advisor. Chances are, there are several highly qualified financial advisors in your town. However, it can seem daunting to choose one.
M My vet process I interviewed 3 checking their reputation. I chose a fee-based CFP, which means advice not based on selling a product. I told them a possible amount and asked for a plan of where they would put those dollars and the fees involved.
V Vetting is important.
