M Seldom do we go to Ecclesiastes for financial wisdom.  I recently found myself pondering 5: 19  ‘Likewise all to whom God gives wealth and possessions and whom he enables to enjoy them, and to accept their lot and find enjoyment in their toil—this is the gift of God.’

V Whether our wealth and possessions seem great or small, by most world standards, we are beyond blessed. Rather than worry or compare, why not enjoy.  Celebrate that we could ‘toil.’  Work, earn, and enjoy.  And most important, thank God. Verse 20 refers to brooding over the days of our lives.  We can look back on the year at ‘what ifs’ and ‘if onlys.’
