Gratitude

I’m Miriam Neff and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan with Wise Women Managing Money.

M Have you considered that a great benefit to your budget, is gratitude?  The attitude of gratitude does not increase your income, reduce your debt, so how is gratitude helpful?

V Taking time to intentionally thank God that you have a bed to sleep on, clean sheets, morning coffee, starts us on the road to not thinking, ‘What do I want next?’ but, ‘look at the abundance I have now.’  My family remembers walking through the Mathare Valley slum in Nairobi looking at smiling children’s faces chanting, ‘How are you?’  They wore no shoes, had one meal a day, no bed mat of their own.

M Gratitude:  what you thought you needed becomes a ‘Never mind. I’m content.’
