M Valerie, you bought your last 3 vehicles from private owners on Craigslist. You saved money, but there was risk.

V Buying from a private seller is usually cheaper, but there is much due diligence you’ll need to do. Check title. Is the title clean, or is it a salvage title? Check the Kelly Blue Book value for that make model and year. You can test drive the car, and sometimes get it looked at by your mechanic if the owner will allow that.  Don’t go for just the best-looking car, get reviews on how that model car, built in that year, has performed against its peers in repair data.
