People Needing Help

I’m Miriam Neff and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan with Wise Women Managing Money.

M What family does not experience times of financial struggle?  Where do we turn for help?  Often, it’s to family first.  Whether able or willing to help, it’s complicated.  Our government has some programs and they keep changing.  Welfare roles 20 years ago were higher than today. 

V The focus today is to incentivize people to work in order to have some government benefits.  It’s a bumpy ride with a noble goal.  The most efficient sources of help are churches and nonprofit organizations.  We have the advantage of knowing that extended spiritual family well and being able to walk beside them.

M Yes, Jesus stated that we will always have poor people among us.  He healed some, fed many, and walked with them.
