Prenuptial agreements

I’m Miriam Neff, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, with Wise Women Managing Money

M Christians disagree on many things.  Following Scripture, all Scripture is a blueprint for agreement on the essentials.  We’ll tackle a subject today where disagreement is possible.  Prenuptial agreements are an agreement between two people that is created before they are married.  Typically, this addresses assets.

V This may be advisable when there are assets of worth held by either before marriage.  This agreement safeguards both parties and should be done respectfully.

With the likely hood of both women and men being employed prior to marriage, perhaps having 401(k)s IRA Roths, and other assets that need to be protected for the owner, prenuptial agreements are wise. Ownership of property and debt should be included.

M Rather than being a vote against the marriage lasting, this is good stewardship.
